A pack of health for women", a reusable sanitary napkin distribution drive by Gracious Givers
Kalimpong Girl Tina Gurung, the volunteer member of Padsquad reached Chamong Tea Estate on 9th November 2020 for her fifth drive for awareness of women hygiene and free distribution of sanitary pads campaign to the tea garden female workers with the help of her parents. This drive is especially supported and sponsored by RUPA Foundation under the banner, " A pack of health for women", a reusable sanitary napkin distribution drive by Gracious Givers- An initiative by Rungta Foundation
Chamong Tea Estate is located under Sukhiapokhari-Jorebunglow Development Block of Darjeeling District and just a 10 kilometers away from Indi-Nepal Border. Chamong Tea is certified as a world famous tea brand of it's pure organic production. The garden has it's own garden tourists' resort which is emerging as premium tourist resort in the region.
The distribution venue was fixed at 16 Nos Tauwa of the garden where the first half of the day's plugged green tea leaves collected from garden at 11 o'clock. We reached at the venue a hour earlier for sitting arrangement. I went down to the garden where the female workers were plugging tea leaves in the garden in hot sunny hot winter days.

Tauwa is also used as crèche to look after the feeding babies of the garden workers and the lunch break scheduled at 11 o'clock after weighting their 1st half day's plugged tea leaves.

After a short lunch break at Tauwa,the garden manager Mr. S.R. Chawdhery and the Assistant Manager Mr. Nikhil Rai were physically present to make this program successful . The manager addressed to the garden workers for the importance of the events. Then Tina delivered a lecture on importance of women hygiene and proper uses and disposal of sanitary napkin. She also addressed the motives and social activities of Padsquade, NGO foundation.

During this drive, Tina has distributed 900 pieces of reusable sanitary napkins to the l ady workers of Chamang Tea Garden and the management thanked to the Padsquad, NGO foundation for providing this humane and social assistance to the deprived and underprivileged garden workers during this pandemic period through Miss Tina Gurung and her team.
